The aim of conference is to invite and share multiple and diverse perspectives about new challenges in education and the implications for philosophy of education. The theme of this conference in 2012 is “Education Crossing Boundaries.”

Individuals interested in presenting papers at “Education Crossing Boundaries” are invited to submit abstracts referring one or more of the following conference themes which explore:

¨        Education from cross-cultural perspectives;

¨        Possibilities and limitation of educational philosophies and practices crossing the boundaries between the North and the South;
¨        Education, pedagogy or curriculum across the boundaries of various languages;
¨        Multidisciplinary perspectives on philosophy of education;
¨        Education at the crossroad of old and new, convention and innovation, local and global;
¨        Transcultural or intercultural philosophy of education;
¨        Any other appropriate topics with an educational axis or focus.

The PESA conference provides a supportive environment for the presentation and discussion of scholarly work in education. Presenters come from many different parts of the world and draw on a wide range of philosophical traditions and perspectives.  Postgraduate students and others new to philosophy of education are warmly encouraged to participate.
